Gullfoss Falls, Iceland

Gullfoss Falls, Iceland

Make the most of your day and book this tour that combines Reykjavik‘s top attractions, interesting facts, and stories with the popular Golden circle Tour that showcases some of Iceland top tourist attractions.

On this tour, you will go on a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik city in the morning, where you'll get to enjoy a view over Reykjavik from Perlan dome, explore the oldest part of the city, and visit the Hallgrimskirkja church whose design was inspired by basalt lava columns and Icelandic nature. Explore the farm style Presidential Residence at Bessastadir.

The second leg of this combination, in the afternoon, is the Golden Circle sightseeing tour. This guided excursion is packed with geological intrigue and historic legacy featuring National Park Þingvellir, where you'll see the rift valley formed by the separation of the Earth's tectonic plates. This is also the home of Iceland's largest natural lake and the site where the oldest parliament in the world was established.

Next stop on the Golden Circle tour is at Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's most powerful waterfalls. You will be amazed by the glacial meltwater of Hvita river, as it rushes down into a narrow canyon, and your guide will tell you about the history of the waterfall and the efforts put into protecting it.

The last stop is at Geysir geothermal area, home to the geyser that all other geysers are named after. Another geyser there, Strokkur, is very active with eruptions every few minutes so you are guaranteed an opportunity to see an eruption up close.
